Ok A—–, I have some issues…
Obstacles…
Let’s see if we can overcome them…
First…I’m in Canada…I don’t believe in “guns” of any sort…I don’t even use a staple “gun” to hold my linen in place…I know an art printer who shot a nail through the back of his hand(he was roofing), all the way through, while using a nail “gun”…
So I don’t like the word “gun” at all…If something says it is a gun, no matter what kind, I am out basically…
People here in Canada don’t walk around with guns & they don’t all have one or three in their homes…or semi-automatics or whatever…Contrary to your American press, Canadian are not gun loving nor gun toting people…That is a lie designed to support your own gun manufacturing industry…Which I understand is significant enough to pressure politicians in Connecticut to back off of making legal laws…That is called government corruption here & we fire them fast for that…If a politician can be bought by threats to move the gun plant out of state then they are turned & no good to anyone…Scrap them…
Ok, that was slightly off topic, but I am sorry it is quite pertinent to us here in Canada what has just happened next door in your country…It affects us…
Our migrating Trumpeter swans have also been affected…They fly to the States when it is cold here & then hunters “accidentally” shoot our endangered species…Also, since your gun makers have not banned lead bullets like we have in Canada, our swans eat the lead bullets from the bottom of your lakes & ponds thinking it is just grit & then they come home to us dying of lead poisoning…Green bullets are made of Bismuth & do not cause lead poisoning…But we have encountered significant resistance in getting your country to ban lead bullets & switch to eco-green Bismuth bullets…A Trumpeter swan just came home to us on Lake Ontario this November 2012 dying…One of the suspected causes (the autposy is still going on) is ingestion of a lead bullet as grit…Due to global warming water levels are lower, so your lead bullets are coming up more…I am a little pissed off about this to say the least…
So that is how I feel about guns…Including spray “guns”…
Now to spray guns…Specifically…Any time you spray paint there is spatter…Airborne…You can wear as many respirators & eyeglasses & hoods & gloves as you like, the paint will still be airborne, suspended in tiny particles in the air…The method of spraying paint itself is in question…The lungs of a worker or artist who sprays paint will be questionable…
Now…I’d have to ask…Is the paint that is being sprayed eco-friendly with no VOC (no volatile organic components)?
For aerosol containers that spray, please watch the film the Bourne Ultimatum…The Matt Damon character in a tiny segment, tosses an aerosol spray can into a fire…It explodes violently…It is a bomb…That is how I feel about aerosol containers containing spray paint…My feeling about bombs goes even further than my feelings about guns…So, I do not agree with spray paint sent out from an under pressure metal can…
Now…One can take an empty spray “BOTTLE” (not gun), & fill it with liquid & paint & perhaps spray the object that way…It can be done…It is a little safer…
My preference when using paint is that it be as eco-friendly from beginning to end, as possible…Pigment choices(where are they sourced from, meaning is this a local product or was it made in the far east or somewhere else where workers are slaves in a factory or it takes 3 elephants to walk over a mountain to deliver it)), no lead paint, no rabbit skin glue, no animal hair brushes…
My oil paintings on linen were painted with a knife because of how animal hair brushes are sourced…
That is how I feel about animal hair brushes…
I don’t use turps…No turpentines at all…I source my eco-friendly dammar varnish from Eco-House in Fredericton, New Brunswick…Check them out eco-house.ca (their solvent is based on orange juice)…
My eco-friendly concrete sealer is also a mix from Eco-House…No Vocs…Amazing stuff works great you can even remove graffiti from a sculpture or cement wall with soap & water if this was applied first…I like that…Good company Eco-house…
Now I have used car paints before…Sand, foggy primer, colour, topcoat varnish…I brushed it on instead of spraying…I know that brushing on car paint causes less “perfection” but the devil is perfectly dressed & Jesus is maybe “some poor slob like one of us”…(from the song what is God like one of us)…
So, my metal paint application might be less than perfect…I can live with that, literally, because I won’t be inhaling chrome paint is suspension…
So, does your chrome paint come in bottles that can be applied or poured or dipped without spraying? Can the paint, if diluted maybe, be put in a simple squirt bottle like one you squirt plants with?
How exactly (exactly means everything) from start to finish, safe is the paint? From an eco-friendly perspective? Every chemical every additive, how safe are they?
I mean what will I be eating if I use your chrome paints?
Send me a colour chart or post one online with real pictures of the colours on real things with a view of before painting without editing the pictures, include various methods of application, not just spray gun…Prices of samples including shipping to Toronto, Canada…Can I pay for the samples using Paypal? That is important because many credit card servers disqualify Canadians from buying & then I have to call & correct the fault which costs me time…
Are you yourself proud of the product besides aesthetics? Your site really only speaks to aesthetics(mirror finish)…I am interested in products that are more than just a pretty face…I didn’t get a nose job because sense of smell is important to me…Even though my nose would not make it in California aesthetically…My boobs are small, no implants here, because I can’t run or ski or play basketball or bike ride with bigger boobs..I like function…Form is important but not at the expense of function…Is a mirror finish important because people need to look at themselves all the time?(read Narcissus & Goldmund by Herman Hesse- he looked into a mirror alot too, narcissist!)…
Am I going to ruin the water supply here if I use your products? or the air here? Will I die? will I have headaches from the resins?
Are there reviews from your previous customers available online about this?
Dear Angela, I have been hard on you…
I am only doing this because I am your friend & I care…Your enemy is the one just buying with no questions…
Hugs & all the best, Sari Grove, co-owner GroveCanada
& Happy New Year, 2013, (it’s going to be a doozy!)
