Ok, so this is a Screencast of how to get the Texture Paint thing working in Blender 3d animation software…Version 2.7 here…
If you have never tried Blender, it is free & it is hard & it is wonderful & it is addictive…
Painting onto your object is actually much harder than I had ever imagined…
The screencast recording today is after all day of watching tutorials & reading manuals & forum comments…
The problem is that whenever a new version of Blender comes out, the older tutorials are off by like one button…
But that one button can ruin your whole work flow if you don’t know which one is missing…
Ahh…Better yes? I just increased the finished saved render resolution at the end…Also, for fun I played with the Bump Map bar, which is just below the color bar, when you are texture painting…(you have to activate the plug-in to get this option-see video for how to do that & all)…So I got texture & colour! better eh?
(mmm…I should add that I cropped the finished PNG file in iPhoto & while there I amped up the sharpness & saturation & contrast a bit too…The real render was softer…)
Above picture, later this evening…(7:44 pm, Joseph is watching hockey, NHL finals, so I am back to work due to the fact that I am allergic to male sporting events…
Ok…Sooo fancy…
I went into Sculpt Mode & sculpted a little creature using the snake tail brush & the blob brush…(In Toplogy enable dynamic & optimize as well as collapse short edges & smooth for this look)…
Then in texture paint I took more trouble with the brush, as well as throwing in some texture, not that I know how, just messing with the brushes there…
Rendered at full resolution as well, why not?
Ok, so 9:48 pm, I put the big file into Flickr (who are now giving one terabyte with their pro accounts!(announced today)-so if you click now on the picture below you can see what texture Paint can do in more full glory!!!(I call the character “GOOF”…I may animate him later…)
