The act of firing someone is in question here:

firing policies “IBM has a no-fire policy here…This is a new concept-paradigm…The idea that one cannot be fired, at all…”

(A comment I was responding to on ArtBizBlog.com that got too big)

“I suppose I was too brief…

The idea was that the act of firing someone was in & of itself in question…

That when you hire someone to IBM Canada, that it is essentially for a lifetime career, & that to fire someone from their job there is to end their ability to make a living…This is because in Canada there is usually only one job…

One job as in, you cannot exactly be fired from a job here & expect to get hired for a similar job by a competing company…So it is a compassionate idea, to ban the concept of firing…

I wrote this because I see the Donald Trump show, the Celebrity Apprentice, as well as the general concept of firing someone, as being used too harshly in many cases…

Not to mention the extreme self-judgement artists use, as demonstrated by their
willingness to fire themselves…Firing yourself or someone else, as seen in most Depression eras, can be a recipe for…well…more severe self-judgmentary acts…

Much underperforming can be corrected with a Sabbatical…Even the fields(the fields as in a field of vegetables growing), get one year in every seven as rest…

So should the artist…As ordered by the boss…the artist…”
