Healing rodents who have already eaten bad food laced with pesticide is science…

Know the difference…

The object of science used to be to heal…

That was the goal…

To have twisted this mission into justifying cruel & unusual experiments on animals or humans, as science, is a perversion of what was once a noble profession…

Know the difference…

These are not scientists, they are vivisectionists…

The “Brown Shirts” did some wonderful testing on humans too…

Shall we applaud them in the name of science?”

The answer is no…

Cruel laboratory testing on animals, humans & plants needs to stop…

Any doctor who participates is violating the oath they took when they got their licence as such their licence should be revoked…

Those who do not know about the oath, First do no harm, need to shut up…

Regarding the Sacred aspect of art relationships:

The buyer has to be sacred too…
I mean, choose wisely who you are going to allow to buy your work…
A special repeat collector left her coffee cup in my studio after buying several works…
I was about to throw it away, but noticed it had writing on it…
Apparently Starbucks had been putting deep thought quotes on their outer cup…
I kept that cup & still have it today in my locker area…
The quote itself moved me at the time, enough to have sacred feelings once again for this collector…
Some sort of sign this lady was holy…
God is in the details…
Remember also to be a sacred collector…
A gallery owner who is now a PHD & teaching gender issues in a university here smelled so nice while I was being introduced…
Squeaky clean too…Tall & cool & fresh from living in Colorado air…
I remember that sacred quality about her…
The very first time I asked Art Biz Coach what she thought about my work, she wrote back “handsome”…
How many times had I asked the very same question to new possibles, only to get a dumb answer…
A compliment right at the beginning of a relationship is so important to confirming future direction…
So many years later, I ventured forth with pictures of some new work in the medical arts field…
Art Biz Coach encouraged me in that direction…
Without that support, I might still be looking only at pure aesthetics…
But emboldened once again by a compliment, I have another decades worth of gas in my belly to move forward…(that came out wrong! ha!, & once again, worse!-sounds like I am flatulent!)
Another sacred relationship…
Of course, Ariadne(I love mythology so your name brings me back) the gentle wise spider here has been sacred from the beginning…
The web of silvery dust sprinkles gets woven here with toil & muscle…
It glistens in the sun…Ah, sacred writings…
I can only be good as an artist because of those who have been good to me…

What venues have I shown in & how did that all go?

So I’m an artist…I say “Vase”…Visual Artist Self-Employed…

I have shown my work in a whole lot of different places…

Mostly on purpose…

On purpose means that I on purpose chose to show in all these different locations because I wanted to ‘feel’ all those different experiences…

I have always felt that that was important…

In school I liked to make friends with all the different groups of people, to be able to move from one group to another without getting trapped…I saw myself as an ombudsman or a bridge…

Plus it was more interesting…

To get up close to the girl who wears black lipstick, then later, hang out with the squeaky clean football player…

Something like that…

I like to observe people & situations & you just gotta be able to move through them…

So far in my art career I have shown with or in:

My own studio, vanity shows…

An art gallery in the corner of a giant carpet & furniture store…

An artist co-operative gallery, group show but really retail gallery…

A tony Yorkville fine frame shop…

A “pay to play” vanity gallery that only showed works on paper…(Yes, I did pay to play…I wanted to feel how that felt & how that went…I didn’t want to be the person who said the Last Temptation of Christ was awful but I didn’t see it…)

A Cafe & Gallery also with some work studio space I used in their basement…

A real artist co-operative…

A dentist’s office…

A UPS store…

A Persian carpet store in the fanciest mall in town…(Yes the abstract nature of Persian carpets combined with their on purpose asymmetry & geometric mathematics does captivate me)…

The Grand Opening of a New gallery on an excellent art street in town…(perhaps what one imagines when one imagines being with an art gallery)…

An art gallery off the beaten track run by an art teacher…

An arts organization-in their gallery, in a library they show with(solo), in a big juried show they run in a fabulous restored heritage museum…

I’ve also shown online in a plethora of locations…Soon I will be featured on the WAMSOC website (Women’s Art Museum Society of Canada)…The Wamsoc site differs from most online sites in that their goal or mission is to one day build a real museum for women artists in Canada…For me, the conversion of online to real is important…That possibility…

I also have a book now that can be bought on Amazon…Again, the possibility of converting that online experience to a real paper & ink book in your hands makes it feel real…

So…After all these years & all this different type of showing, & all these new people & places, what did I bring home about all of this?

Well…Sigh…

It turns out that the very very first thing I did when I started my career as an artist, the renting of a studio & having my own shows there, that was my all time favorite way to play…

You get the most control…

Gallery owners like to come to your studio to see work…They are nicer when they come to you…They spend more time & energy with you when they come to you…

All your money stays in your own hands…The entire show is your decision from beginning to end…You have a nice big space to work in…You feel like a real artist…People think you are a real artist when you have a studio they can come to…

You don’t really need galleries…But they will want you…But you don’t need them…You can sell yourself…

You don’t need a contract…No one disappoints you…

The only thing is is you have got to pay the rent on a studio…It is a luxury…

I found my art really grew well when I had my own rented studio…I was banging away at huge alabaster stones…Making giant pointillist oil paintings wearing gloves & painting with my fingertips…

I felt gorgeous & alive…

I wore what I wanted to wear (which at the time were all in one catsuit jumpsuits from Malabar the dance supply warehouse)…

The bakery downstairs supplied the fresh baked cookies for my shows…

Though I probably needed to go down the path, to try all the other places, in order to know what was best, I would still stick with having my own studio shows as being the most fun of everything…

I’m not going to go into the negatives about all the other venues…

Because I just want to tell you that if you are wondering about what it’s like to show in fancy galleries, or juried shows, or co-operatives or cafes, that personally I liked having my own studio shows totally the best of everything after all is said & done…

Oh I did a whole bunch of charity shows for all sorts of different kinds of charities…(But I don’t like to talk too much about charity shows because then you lose your bonus points in heaven if you talk about all the great things you did…-My understanding is you get Christian bonus points for not telling if you did a good thing…Obviously I am still working at that!)
